Extending the reach of video

US based KOLLECTIVE delivers video streaming solutions for large organizations, in this case – for NESTLE.


We designed the content portal that was deployed on 180,000 NESTLE end-user machines.

US based Kollective requested a best of breed UI for its MediaCenter video streaming product. Nothing less than utmost quality was expected, since the product had to be tailored to leading customer: the Nestle enterprise.


We went for a media-centric solution: we put the video clips at the front-stage while placing the UI controls “in the shadows”. This way the UI did not outweigh the actual video objects, and a vivid experience of “media arena” was formed.


Already in the wireframing stage we made sure that the experience would be adaptive to a wide range of screen sizes, from desktops to small smartphones.


Since the content is inherently visually rich - video thumbnails and banners - we let it speak up! Still, in order to achieve really pleasant look we came up with a trick: We guided the customer to automatically select thumbnail frames that have color commonality, great way to ensure nice color composition and overall appeal.


A true success story: Nestlé deployed the interface on 180,000 end-user machines, enabling communication and collaboration with video amongst employees.
